Milk is Milk
For more than 4 year the Center for Global Food Issues (CGFI) has been collecting information on dairy marketing-related concerns directly impacting producers, consumers and the environment. We have conducted producer, processor and coop surveys. We have collected data from retail store checks and dairy case manager interviews. We have documented interactions with a wide range of packager and retailers. And, we have other market and consumer research.

Throughout our research we have heard from consumers, dairy producers and others in the indusry who are concerned about truthful, non-misleading marketing issues. Many producers, for example, are unaware of their rights and the various avenues available to protect themselves against unfair competition linked to false or misleading claims which disparage their products. Others are concerned about the negative impact that unethical or illegal absence claims have on consumer dairy attitudes and purchasing habits. And, most are unaware of the extensive network of allies (including consumers) and support resources available to help them with marketing-related challenges.
